Kirk Franklin likes to pepper his sentences with “dope.” But spewing old-school slang isn’t the gospel giant’s most endearing trait. It’s his desire to hustle… in the name of Jesus, of course.
The 42-year-old is joining Marvin Sapp, Donnie McClurkin and Israel Houghton in a 15-city tour, “The King’s Men,” which kicks off on September 16.
JET:Is there anything unique about this concert series?
FRANKLIN: Teaming up with Live Nation is a huge opportunity. It’s the first time they’re doing a tour in the gospel space, so this is a very big opportunity to bring what I coin as “inspirational entertainment” to another forum.
