CHICAGO — Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. has put his Washington townhouse on the market for $2.5 million as he continues to recover from depression.
The 47-year-old Chicago Democrat has been on a three-month leave of absence and underwent treatment for bipolar disorder. He was released from Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic earlier this month and returned to Washington with his family. There is no word on when he might return to work.
The Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday that Jackson’s Victorian-style townhouse was put on the market Sept. 8.
The listing says it has four bedrooms, five fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, a sun room and a rooftop deck with a Jacuzzi.
It notes the sellers “need to find a home of choice.”
Representatives for Jackson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
